Project Background
During the comprehensive renovation of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Zagreb, transparency, accurate documentation, and effective communication between stakeholders were top priorities. To achieve this, the project leveraged the power of digital twin technology through the STAGES platform.
Scope and Methodology
BaldiniStudio, based in Zagreb, was tasked with conducting Matterport scans at critical milestones, such as after the completion of plumbing and HVAC installations, drywall construction, flooring and ceiling work, and other key stages.
Use of STAGES
STAGES enabled time-stamped documentation and visual comparison of construction progress using its Timeline and Split-Screen features. This allowed the university’s management to remotely track work progress and verify compliance with project specifications.
Benefits
Educational Value
Beyond its operational use, the digital twin archive became a valuable learning tool. Architecture students can now explore each phase of the renovation through STAGES, gaining practical insights into the lifecycle of a real-world restoration project.
Testimonial
Working with STAGES was key to the success of this renovation. The platform allowed us to deliver not just spatial documentation, but a powerful project control tool. The university had full insight into each stage, so subcontractors could work with more confidence and precision.”
