Project Background
Blending history with modern innovation, The Muse Whiskey & Coffee Bar revitalized the iconic Weyerhaeuser building in Everett, Washington. Originally built over a century ago, the structure underwent a thoughtful transformation in 2023, preserving its heritage while infusing it with contemporary design. The renovation was led by Graham Company and supported by SIMLAB STAGES to ensure comprehensive oversight and digital documentation.
Scope and Methodology
To protect and celebrate the building’s legacy, the renovation was documented in precise digital detail. The project team used Matterport 3D scans at multiple stages—capturing the building before, during, and after restoration phases. The integration of STAGES enabled them to align architectural vision with execution, while coordinating efforts across contractors, designers, and owners.
Use of STAGES
STAGES’ Timeline and Split-Screen features played a central role in the project. Stakeholders could instantly compare the original state of the building with each subsequent renovation phase. This visual clarity helped ensure compliance with preservation standards while maintaining construction accuracy. In addition, the STAGES platform acted as a centralized hub for cross-team communication and issue tracking.
Use of STAGES
Detailed before-and-after comparisons of the entire restoration process
Enhanced collaboration across historical consultants, engineers, and trades
Transparent tracking of renovation milestones
Centralized repository of all documents, Matterport scans, and annotations
Long-term facility documentation for maintenance, insurance, and compliance audits
